Makeover My Mom: A Class Act - StyleList

Tami, before and after her Makeover My Mom ambush. Photo: Kristin BurnsTami is 35-year-old mother of two. But aside from her own children, she's responsible for a class full every day. As a busy mom and teacher, Tami's style is casual and comfortable -- in other words, easy. "I roll out of bed, hop in the shower, and throw up the teacher bun," she says.Nominated by her husband, Tami says she's ready to return to her pre-baby days Hair weaving when she took a little more time for herself. Her incredible transformation started with hair, which when not wrapped in a bun falls waist length. Stylist Chaz Dean cut several inches -- Tami donated it to Locks of Love, a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer -- and snipped in some long, wispy layers. He added warmth and dimension to her hair with Weaving hair subtle amber highlights. Using a round brush, he blew her hair straight and flipped the ends.Makeup artist Jenna Lee balanced Tami's skin tone with foundation and concealer, then gave her a sexy, smoldering eye by applying a rich gray shadow to the lids and a lighter one along the brow bones. A peachy-bronze blush gave Tami instant radiance, while a soft neutral gloss enhanced her gorgeous lips.Tami after her Makeover My Mom transformation. Photo: Kristin BurnsFashion stylist and Makeover My Mom host Sam Saboura took Tami out of her comfort zone with clothes that fit. "Wearing clothes that are too big can actually make you look bigger," notes Saboura. A skinny pencil skirt paired with a fitted blouse gave Tami a more trim and stylish appearance. With her bun gone and body no longer Remy hair hidden behind baggy clothes, her husband said it best: "You look unbelievable babe."We couldn't agree more.
